Northfield Bed and Breakfast is located on the east mainland, approximately 11 miles from Kirkwall, by car the travel time is around 20 minutes. Please do not rely on sat nav in rural Orkney, the post code is for the parish and will not take you to a specific location but to the middle of the parish. Our modern farmhouse has beautiful views to the North isles which means you can enjoy stunning sunrises, sunsets and unspoiled night skies.
Getting to Orkney could not be easier, the Islands lie just off the northern mainland
coast of Scotland, accessible only by Pentland or Northlink Ferries or air, however
all ferries offer facilities for vehicle transport and foot passengers.
For driving

and timings.
Inverness airport is your nearest major mainland airport, flights from
budget airline easyJet arrive daily from London Luton and London Gatwick, British
Airways also fly into Inverness from multiple locations. Kirkwall is the island airport,
operator Flybe arrives from most major Scottish airports.
